ESPETÁCULO E CIDADANIA: Processos educativos da junina Matutos do Rei

Abstract

The research presented here reveals the reality of an internationally known community because of the socioenvironmental impacts that it suffers, the Pequiá de Baixo community, located on the banks of BR 222 (Brazilian Higway), in the city of Açailândia – MA. The struggle of the residents of Pequiá de Baixo is to be able to resettle in another area away from the heavy pollution caused by steel mills. This community in 2016 was the subject of the June show 'Truth and love will meet, justice and peace will embrace' by a june show group called Matutos do Rei. A work that portrayed the life of the people from this place, their struggles, their resistance and their forms of organization in the face of development projects implemented by mining companies. This research with a qualitative approach, uses the focus group method to investigate how the process of the socio-political theme of the june show contributed to the socio-educational formation of its members. The stages of the research were composed by the processes of construction of the spectacle, the elaborations of the meetings, rehearsals and organizational meetings. For the construction of the theoretical framework, we used Cuche (2002), Bhabha (2010), Chauí (1986), to talk about culture. Arroyo (2002), Freire (1981), Candau (2008) in the discussion about education, and so many other theorists who discuss citizenship, rights and social movements. The final product is a documentary that deals with the narratives of the june show players with the theme of the show, and how this meeting made these subjects reflect on the importance of their collective role, as artists, as political subjects and willing to fight in favor their social rights.
