Experiências significativas de aprendizagem em artes visuais: Abordagem da fotografia surrealista de Man Ray na U.I Padre Newton Pereira em São Luís-MA

Abstract

The aim of this study was to promote meaningful learning experiences in the visual arts through the language of photography, specifically the work of the surrealist Man Ray, with students from the Padre Newton Pereira Integrated Unit in São Luís/MA. The research was justified by the students' interest in photography, a language present in their daily lives, especially due to the use of smartphones and social networks. The overall aim was to develop pedagogical appropriations of Man Ray's photography to provoke meaningful learning experiences in the visual arts. In terms of methodology, the study was of an applied nature, with a qualitative approach and exploratory objectives. The technical procedures adopted included bibliographical research and action research. The universe of the research was made up of 14 students from the 9th year of elementary school at the municipal school Unidade Integrada Padre Newton Pereira. Data was collected through class records, texts written by the participants, as well as the researcher's observations and notes. The theoretical framework of the research was based on authors such as Ana Mae Tavares Barbosa, Imanol Aguirre and John Dewey and Jorge Larrosa Bondía. The main results were highlighted in the analysis and interpretation of the pedagogical practice developed, highlighting the students' experiences and learning throughout the surrealist photography workshop, allowing them to express emotions and dreams through surrealist photography, allowing them to express emotions and dreams through digital photography. The study contributed to integrating digital technologies into art teaching, broadening the possibilities for student learning.
