      <description>Título: A Educação Midiática no combate à desinformação: experiências de uma pesquisa-ação com jovens em Rondon do Pará
Autor: GUSMÃO, Camila Rocha

Abstract: Media Education has been identified as a possible alternative for society to develop mechanisms&#xD;
for critically reading the information disseminated by the media, especially on the internet. This&#xD;
dynamic of qualifying content consumers primarily acts against the spread of false information&#xD;
that threatens democracy. We understand this concept as the process of teaching about the&#xD;
media and how it works, aiming to promote students' critical and creative thinking regarding&#xD;
what is consumed and produced in this environment. From this perspective, the general&#xD;
objective of this dissertation is to understand how the inclusion of a Communication&#xD;
professional in the daily routine of the Dionísio Bentes de Carvalho School, in Rondon do&#xD;
Pará/PA, can support the implementation of activities focused on the competencies and skills&#xD;
recommended by the Base Nacional Comum Curricular (BNCC – National Common Curricular&#xD;
Base). The method adopted for the analytical development of this study is action research, based&#xD;
on the guidelines of Thiollent (2011). We chose this methodology because we consider it the&#xD;
most appropriate in the context of Media Education, based on the following hypotheses: (H1)&#xD;
The Dionísio Bentes de Carvalho School is unable to effectively address and develop the media&#xD;
competencies and skills established in the BNCC due to the lack of specific teacher training and&#xD;
technological resources; (H2) Ongoing media education activities led by a communication&#xD;
professional support the development of students’ critical thinking skills. The theoretical&#xD;
approach focuses on the intersection between Communication and Education, engaging with&#xD;
concepts such as Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1987), Dewey Pragmatism (1915),&#xD;
Martín-Barbero Communication and Culture (2014), and Buckingham Media Education&#xD;
(2003). The research is conducted with a second-year high school class in the only public&#xD;
secondary school in the municipality. This study highlighted the school's limitations in&#xD;
delivering certain content due to infrastructure issues, such as internet access, and the lack of&#xD;
specialized professionals in the field. Furthermore, the activities developed at the school appear&#xD;
to have contributed to the development of critical thinking through Media Education.

      <description>Título: A arte de conquistar o ouvinte: estratégias narrativas em podcasts na era da economia da atenção
Autor: SILVA, Wellington Borges da

Abstract: This work aims to identify how narrative podcasts are constructed to attract listeners’&#xD;
attention. To do this, we will analyze the productions Praia dos Ossos and O caso, Últimos&#xD;
Passos. We take into account that such podcasts need to stand out in the attention economy&#xD;
scenario2&#xD;
, in which there is a large amount of content competing for the public's attention. Our&#xD;
objective is to understand what strategies are used to capture attention for long stories&#xD;
narrated in audio. As a methodology, we propose a multi-method approach, inspired by&#xD;
Podcast Audiostructural Analysis to analyze content within categories such as: type of&#xD;
narrative (1st or 3rd person); chronology (episode follows historical order or not); font&#xD;
classification; use of tracks, use of sound effects; and use of tension hooks. We will also&#xD;
conduct semi-structured interviews with those responsible for the productions. As hypotheses,&#xD;
we consider that such podcasts explore the particularities of on-demand listening and use&#xD;
narratives on the edge of fiction, frequently postponing the climax and endings, to capture the&#xD;
attention of listeners.

      <title>Negritude por conveniência ou legitimidade? Uma análise cultural das parlamentares federais negras brasileiras</title>
      <link>https://tedebc.ufma.br/jspui/handle/tede/6756</link>
      <description>Título: Negritude por conveniência ou legitimidade? Uma análise cultural das parlamentares federais negras brasileiras
Autor: FERREIRA, Nayara Cristina Silva

Abstract: The main objective of this dissertation is to develop a cultural analysis of the identities and&#xD;
representations of Black Brazilian Congresswomen. The federal parliament is composed of&#xD;
the Chamber of Deputies, with 513 seats, and the Federal Senate, with 81 seats, totaling 594&#xD;
legislative positions. In the most recent general elections, in 2022, 540 seats were up for&#xD;
grabs, and only 29 Black women (13 Black and 16 Brown [mixed race]) were elected to fill&#xD;
them. The outcome of the electoral dispute shows that political parity between men and&#xD;
women is far from being achieved, and among the women holding political positions, racial&#xD;
equality is still distant. In parallel to this reality, considering the expansion of digital social&#xD;
networks and their influence on contemporary society, we chose Instagram to carry out part of&#xD;
our analysis, which involves the relationships established by the female lawmakers, as the&#xD;
social network has become particularly prominent among politicians compared to other&#xD;
platforms. Based on the question of how Black federal lawmakers appropriate Instagram to&#xD;
construct their identities, our specific objective is to understand the construction of these&#xD;
Black politicians' identities and representations on the platform. To conduct the proposed&#xD;
analysis, the methodological approach used is the theoretical-methodological protocol of&#xD;
mediations (Martín-Barbero, 2009), which allows us to understand the communication&#xD;
process built within the relationships established and the meanings produced by the&#xD;
lawmakers in a comprehensive way, going beyond content-based and technical&#xD;
interpretations. The cultural analysis from the perspective of mediations addresses the&#xD;
communicational process in its social, institutional, economic, and technical dimensions,&#xD;
observing practices empirically in the cultural context in which they are embedded. In this&#xD;
case, to study the production-circulation-consumption logic of Black lawmakers on&#xD;
Instagram, it was necessary to contextualize the historical-social-cultural process of the&#xD;
formation of Brazilian society, deeply marked by structural racism (Almeida, 2019) and&#xD;
colonial patriarchy, which led us to engage with Black feminist theorists (Carneiro, 2019;&#xD;
Ribeiro, 2018; Kilomba, 2020; bell hooks, 2020) and decolonial theorists (Lugones, 2014;&#xD;
Gonzalez, 2020). Therefore, we understand this as an analytical approach to the cultural&#xD;
context, aiming at the decolonization of these relations. Key analytical categories also&#xD;
included theoretical concepts of identity and representation (Hall, 2006; Munanga, 1990). Our&#xD;
qualitative research also aims to reflect on the low representation of Black women and the&#xD;
improper appropriation of Black identity in the National Congress, which required the&#xD;
collection of empirical data from both the lawmakers' Instagram pages and the institutional&#xD;
websites of the Chamber and Senate regarding the legislative production of female&#xD;
lawmakers, as well as interviews with lawmakers who agreed to discuss their trajectories,&#xD;
legislative work, and use of the platform, which complemented our interpretations. We found&#xD;
that the fight for the rights of Black women and against racism is present in the agendas&#xD;
predominantly defended by self-identified Black lawmakers and members of left-wing parties.&#xD;
In contrast, those affiliated with right-wing parties, mostly self-identified as Brown, are more&#xD;
conservative and serve the patriarchy. Furthermore, among the Brown lawmakers, there is a&#xD;
clear electoral appropriation of race. Thus, we aim to contribute to the debate on the presence&#xD;
and effective representation of Black women in national politics.

      <title>O TENSIONAMENTO NO CONSUMO DE NOTÍCIAS: CRENÇAS RELIGIOSAS, POLÍTICAS E DESINFORMAÇÃO ENTRE FIÉIS DA ASSEMBLEIA DE DEUS EM IMPERATRIZ (MA)</title>

      <description>Título: O TENSIONAMENTO NO CONSUMO DE NOTÍCIAS: CRENÇAS RELIGIOSAS, POLÍTICAS E DESINFORMAÇÃO ENTRE FIÉIS DA ASSEMBLEIA DE DEUS EM IMPERATRIZ (MA)
Autor: BARROS, Joilson dos Santos

Abstract: This qualitative study investigates the process of searching, evaluating, and interpreting news&#xD;
by members of the Assembleia de Deus (Assembly of God) in Imperatriz, Maranhão, the&#xD;
largest Pentecostal evangelical denomination in the municipality and the country. Twenty-five&#xD;
interviews were conducted in six congregations across the city, covering different age groups:&#xD;
youth (18-29 years), adults (30-64 years), and elderly (65+ years). The semi-structured&#xD;
interviews were organized into three sections: the first explored individuals' relationship with&#xD;
the church and its representatives; the second examined media consumption practices and the&#xD;
selection of communication channels; and the third asked participants to read and comment&#xD;
on a false rumor spread by evangelical federal congressman Nikolas Ferreira, concerning the&#xD;
death of gospel singer Pedro Henrique and COVID-19 vaccines. Theoretically, the study is&#xD;
based on literature concerning Pentecostal culture and its interaction with politics,&#xD;
Bolsonaroism, electronic media, and the COVID-19 pandemic (Alencar, 2019; Guerreiro;&#xD;
Almeida, 2021; Prandi; Santos; Bonato, 2019; Novaes, 2001; Vital da Cunha, 2023). It also&#xD;
addresses factors contributing to the belief in fake news, religious preferences in media&#xD;
selection, scientific misinformation on social media, and the hostile perception of journalism&#xD;
(Bryanov; Vziatysheva, 2021; Gomes, 2016; Mundim, 2015; Oliveira, 2020).&#xD;
Methodologically, Gibbs' (2009) thematic analysis technique was used to identify and&#xD;
interpret recurring themes in the interviews. The results indicate a clear divide in media&#xD;
consumption among the believers: a considerable group consumes both right-wing partisan&#xD;
outlets and traditional media, while another group, predominantly female, shows disinterest in&#xD;
journalism. Furthermore, the analysis revealed differing stances on COVID-19 vaccines: 12&#xD;
participants accepted the rumor about the vaccines, 9 remained neutral, and 4 rejected the&#xD;
rumor, indicating the plurality of opinions on the subject. Finally, a culture of protection for&#xD;
religious leaders, such as Nikolas Ferreira, was observed, where believers, even when&#xD;
partially disagreeing with their statements, tend to soften or defend their remarks as a form of&#xD;
loyalty or idolatry.
